Tente Rouge de Lyon – France

Return to Directory
Tente rouge à Lyon - Red tent in Lyon
Location: France
Name of your Red Tent: Tente Rouge de Lyon – France
Where in your country are you: Lyon
Where do your Red Tents meet: Nomadic tent, I go where I am invited
When do you meet: On demand
What do you do in your Red Tents:

I welcome everyone, explain to them what is a red tent, the history of this movement in France and around the world, I explain the rules of the red tent (speaking with “I”, sharing our own experience, everything said under the tent stay under the tent, everyone can speak/stay silent/ laugh/cry as long as she needs, without being interrupted… respect, listening, supporting, feeling free to make this moment what you want it to be…)
Then sometimes a relaxation or a word of introduction. And women can talk whenever they want, if they want. A woman shouldn’t speak again until everyone has spoken once (or said she doesn’t want to speak).
At the end we take time together, saying one word about how she feels, and we put a ribbon around our wrists, symbolizing this shared moment. I cut it so every woman can keep it as a “souvenir”. She can attach it around her wrist or do whatever she wants with it.
If you read French you can read here my philosophy about this : naissance.nayane.fr/faciliter-une-tente-rouge/

Do you ask participants to bring anything, wear red or make a donation?: I am a strong advocate of “a red tent is like a smile, a smile has no price, so it should be free 😉 “… If you pay for it, it is really not the same !
I only ask for a “little something if they can” so that the drink and food is shared if I bring it, or I ask them to bring food, or candles or a little decoration for my tent.
I also say wearing something red is a possibility.
What language is spoken in your Red Tent?: French (I’ve never had requests for English speaking red tents, but if it could be a possibility)
