1. What do Red Tents mean to you?
Red Tents for me are a way of accessing the intrinsic power to heal, love, and share compassion that all women hold as part of the bowl of creation in life. We hold this power both singularly and as group connected by the web or our DNA. Red tents allows us to access our ancestral wisdom and apply it in this modern day, I see them as a way of building resilience in a patriarchal society.
2. What do you do in Red Tent Directory?
I’m part of a team co-steering a ‘free resource’ for all to access on the red directory. When complete this resource area will provide a one area for every woman regardless of financial status, to access the resources she needs to heal, learn, love and build compassion either on her own or part of one of the many new red tents popping up globally.
3. How do Red Tents inform your wider work and life?
My day job in healthcare is in a predominately female based work place and through red tents I can see sparks of the sisterhood felt when meeting under the moon. However it also highlights the fragmentation that modern life has placed on women at work, therefore I want to spread the word far and wide and bring cohesion to as many as possible, so we can be open and feel safe doing so, forgetting constant comparisons, body shaming, pressure to be all to everyone.
4. If you had to describe yourself as a plant, mineral or animal what would it be and why?
I think I would describe myself as a piece of quartz crystal, as it’s property is to amplify the qualities of those around it. I’m an ideas person and I like to link people to make magic happen and projects come to life.
